John has over thirty-five years’ experience in major and mega project development that includes executive roles with companies ranging from oil and mining multi-nationals, to mid-tier energy developers and new technology start-ups. He has deep and broad experience that covers developing concepts, managing feasibility studies and implementing major projects. He is a strong hands-on person, with a wealth of practical experience in delivering exemplary commercial, technical, health & safety and community engagement outcomes. John has been certified as a Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) and has a thorough understanding of the theory and application of the entire project management life cycle.
John has spent many years in energy and mining developments across Africa, South East Asia and Australasia, holding a range of director, project manager and general manager positions. The last 10 years have been directly in unconventional energy, specialising in coal bed methane (CBM) and other unconventional energy technologies, all built upon a solid foundation of developing, studying and implementing resource megaprojects. Until recently, John was based in east Africa, where he directed a CBM feasibility study and was instrumental in assisting the government to develop a regulatory framework for CBM.
