Bachelor of Science (Geology) – University of Newcastle
Born and raised in the coal fields of the Hunter Valley of New South Wales in Australia, Stuart has been working as a geologist in the mineral exploration industry for 13 years, mainly as a consultant in coal and coal seam gas exploration. Stuart has experience working with large mining companies and junior explorers in both green field and brown field exploration programmes. Stuart’s experience includes consulting and management of exploration projects for BHP Billiton, Anglo American and Xstrata.
Stuart was based in Mozambique for four years, until the end of 2012, where he was Senior Geologist for Riversdale Coal Mozambique and Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique, supervising a major coal exploration drilling campaign. This included a role as the Senior Geologist and Field Operations Manager for a CBM exploration and feasibility study.
Stuart also has experience in base metal exploration and geotechnical investigations for large scale infrastructure and engineering projects.
