Associate – Paul Renouf

 

Bachelor of Science (with High Scholastic Honours), Petroleum Engineering, Colorado School of Mines, USA

Paul has almost 20 years’ experience in petroleum engineering and management, working for major oil and gas companies as well as junior explorers, mid-sized developers, technical reservoir, due-diligence and Reserves consulting firms.  Project skills include design, implementation and analysis of appraisal tests and reservoir testing programs, appraisal project leadership, reservoir performance modelling, petroleum project economic modelling and asset valuations. Paul is skilled in sub-surface and project risk evaluation, field development planning, petroleum Reserves evaluation and certification programs. Paul’s range of experience includes CBM and shale gas storage reservoirs, gathering compression and treating facilities, plus gas transmission.

Paul has been an independent reservoir engineering consultant since 2010, with commissions that primarily consist of CBM gas asset due-diligence studies and project scoping, production/reservoir studies for operators, construction reviews, costing and cost studies for CBM production wells. Paul has also undertaken shale gas exploration and appraisal programs, completion and costs studies, well test design, planning, oversight and real-time well test decision management, pressure transient analysis, diagnosis and reporting, reservoir modelling, history matching  and forecasts. Paul has a high level of experience and exposure to CBM and shale gas field development planning as well as business development technical analyses.

Prior to consulting, Paul has serves roles as Lead Reservoir Engineering Advisor to Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique, Chief Petroleum Engineer for WestSide Corporation Australia, Senior Reservoir Engineer for Santos Australia, Reservoir Engineer for J.M Huber Corporation USA, Reservoir Engineer for Norwest Questa Engineering Corporation USA and Energy Project Consultant for RW Beck USA.

Paul is experienced in many oil & gas software programs and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers; the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia; the Queensland Petroleum Exploration Society; Pi Epsilon Tau (Honor Society of Petroleum Engineering).

Paul received the Outstanding Petroleum Engineering Senior Award at the prestigious Colorado School of Mines and the Navigating Uncharted Territories Award at R.W. Beck, Inc.
